End of Spring Semester
First off, let me introduce myself, my name is Millie, and I am a Junior Nursing major at APSU. Thanks for taking time to read my post and I hope that as I offer you my perspective on life at the Peay, you’ll be able to gain an insider view of life as a college student. Feel free to ask me questions about academics, life in Clarksville, campus activities, etc.– I’ll do my best to answer.
To be honest, the last couple weeks of spring semester were hectic, to say the least, for me. I recently got married on April 21st, which was right around the time I needed to be studying for finals (smart planning on my part, huh?). So with wedding planning, having family visiting, and preparing for finals afforded me an extremely busy semester. Nonetheless, I survived it and am very thankful to be finished with the semester. I’m definitely ready to enjoy the summer and hopefully have time for a honeymoon before classes start. However, I am taking classes during our Summer II session, but at least I’ll have a small break before diving right into the swing of things again.
Another part of my summer activities that will include being on the APSU campus is my work with the Gov’s Ambassadors. I am so excited to work here giving tours over the summer because I get the privilege of meeting so many people from all over the United States and sometimes even from other countries (last year I gave a tour to a man who was from Kenya and had never lived in the U.S. !). Yesterday, I got to meet an extremely nice lady who had just moved to the Clarksville area and seemed extremely excited about getting started at Austin Peay. She loved the idea of intramural sports and all the activities we offer to help students adjust to coming to a place where they don’t know anyone yet. I look forward to seeing her around campus in the fall.
Well I will sign off for now, hope you catch up with me in next week’s post. Until then.
