My Summer Class Begins

Friday, July 13th, 2007

My summer class is in full swing and I’m finding it a little overwhelming and having somewhat of a problem adjusting to the pace of things. For instance, the first day our instructor told us that missing one day of this class was like missing a week of a Fall or Spring semester class?! I’m finding out this is true as we’ve covered a chapter a day and are well into labs– there’s already many things to turn in and I’m already feeling as though I’m losing track of them all.

Anyway, I’m sure that in a couple days I will feel much more adjusted and will be moving with the flow of things, but right now it’s not happening. Our first exam is Monday and my fellow blogger, Chiquita and some other classmates will more than likely get together to cover all the material we need to know….moral support always helps :).

Back in ClarksVegas and some wonderful news

Monday, July 9th, 2007

Hello all! I’m finally back home in Clarksville and had a wonderful trip, but there’s something about home after you’ve been away for awhile that makes it feel really great to be back. The first thing I wanted to do when I got home was go get my puppy from the kennel where she stayed while I was gone. I guess you could say I had a little bit of withdrawl being away from her for a week.
While I was in Florida the zoo was probably my favorite part as well as a dinner cruise we went on that went out into the Gulf of Mexico. Sadly, like an airhead I forgot to even bring a camera with me and didn’t even get a disposable one to use until the last day I was there! However, once I get the pictures developed I will be sure to post them on here.
So what’s my wonderful news I mention in the title of this blog, you ask….well, I got my letter in the mail from the School of Nursing right before we left and I was accepted!!!!!!!!!! I am super excited and am really ready to begin those classes. But first, I have to get through the summer class and let the Nursing program know that I passed the course, which hopefully won’t have to be a concern. So basically, I will start Anatomy and Physiology II on Monday, June 9th and it will end on August 10th. After that’s over I’ll know for certain about whether I get to begin my Nursing classes.
Overall my summer has been great so far, but after my vacation I think I’m refreshed and ready to start classes again and begin using my noggin a little more.
